Wow! What a Ride! We just got back from our trip to Detroit to see our new grandson Dean and Irma came to visit. In anticipation of evacuation, we spent days deciding what to pack for transport and where we could put items that were staying behind. We worked right up to the time we were told we had to leave and then moved to a secure cinder block home with hurricane shutters. That alone was an experience with 2 cats, 2 dogs, 4 kids and 4 adults trying to stay out of each other’s way. We lost power at 9 pm Sunday so it was time for bed. The storm raged on outside as the heat rose inside. Luckily ( and I don’t say that lightly ) the storm was just about over by morning and we could start the clean-up. The home we were staying in got power back only to lose water for a day. Still, everyone was safe and sound. I thank God that our home was not touched by the storm except for a flooded yard that went down enough to return home the next day. Electricity was restored ...
