Affairs’ of the Heart
Well it
wouldn’t be a proper post this close to Valentine’s Day without talking about
the much loved Rose Quartz.
4 Chips of Rose Quartz in a soft milky color |
According to
the Encyclopedia Britannica Rose Quartz is quartz that can vary in color from
pale to rich pink color and has been used in carving since early times. The
color is believed to be derived from titanium and can be faceted to provide
gems of quality for use in jewelry. The milky aspect is attributed to tiny inclusions
that give a polished stone an asterism. Rose Quartz has been found in Brazil,
Sweden, Namibia, California and Maine.
Early
cultures thought that Rose Quartz had supernatural powers to heal and protect.
This carries over to today as Rose Quartz is not only the stone associated with
love but also the healing of a broken heart. This Crystal is directly linked to
the heart Chakra that controls not only the love of others but also self-love,
compassion and forgiveness.
Physically
Rose Quartz can bring balance to the body and offers calm by protecting against
negative emotions. It has been used to benefit the heart through steady
vibrations and beats to strengthen circulation.
As I understand, Rose Quartz will fade if left in the sun, so be sure to put it away when you are not wearing it. If your Rose Quartz fades, it will not affect the power of the crystal. Keep it clean of negative energy by soaking in warm salty water overnight. Add 1-2 tbsp of sea salt to the water for soaking and rinse in the morning with warm water
If you have your Rose Quartz mounted in silver or any other raw metal, it would be best to not put it in salt water as you may get corrosion on the metal. Instead find a window sill that the moon shines in and leave it on the sill for the night.
Well that’s it for today.
A unique shape for your ears |
Happy Valentine's Day
With Love
