Aventurine Hearts Green the color of life, nature and Ireland. Contrary to what you would think, green is not the official color of Ireland. It became popular to wear green in the shape of a shamrock during the 19 th century when there was a political rebellion by the Catholic Ireland protesting against Protestant England. Historically the use of green became the color of the north in the 17 th century when England attempted to bring all of Ireland under its rule. When the wave of Irish immigrants came to America  in the 1850's they began wearing the color  green along with carrying Irish and American flags as a point of pride for their heritage and love of their new home.
