A Time to Reflect
Picasso Marble for Decision Making
This
week starts the Christian period of self reflection called Lent. This is the
time that Christians around the world use the 40 days before Easter as a time of spiritual
preparation and reflection.
Before
you think that this post is all about Christianity you should know that most
religions have special seasons or days for self examination. For Example:
Islam
- Ramadan which is a month long study of intense spiritual rejuvenation with a
focus on devotion and the Qur’an.
Judaism - 10 Days of Awe that are ten-days of deep introspection and reflection with the holiday of Yom Kippur, or the Day of Atonement.
Hinduism – The holiday Diwali when they ask assistance in cultivating and accumulating spiritual wealth, such as compassion, forgiveness, and loving-kindness.

But
you don’t have to wait for a holiday to reflect on your life. The way to get
the best out of life is to keep vigil not only on your health but the path you
are walking. Here are a few stones that will help you learn what is really important.
Stones for self reflection
Amazonite: Helps you to understand yourself, embrace
your inner truth and express it effectively
Bloodstone for Self Worth |
Aquamarine: Encourages inner peace by helping to realize your inner truth and release self defeating beliefs. It clears the mind, help you understand underlying emotional states and how you feel so you are empowered to take responsibility for yourself
Blood
Stone: Removes self doubt and
nourishes feelings of self worth, by
calming the emotions, clearing confusion and enhancing decision making.
Howlite: Helps you to be comfortable as your true
self without the need to pretend to be anything else,
Picasso Marble: Not a stone that is used for the healing of
the body but the mind. It helps you make decisions and find your path
to fulfillment.
Simple Instructions to self reflection
These are only a few of the stones that can help in your quest and as corny as it sounds, you will know which one will work for you when you find it.
Now, I am not telling you that you have to go all eastern and sit in the lotus pose to get the full benefit. This is your journey. The stone is a helper not an answer. So, find a comfortable place to sit. (if you find the lotus position comfortable, go for it😊). Hold your stone in your hand, wear it, or keep it in your pocket. I personally like to wear a stone for a minimum of 24 hours. Every time I touch it, I am reminded why I am wearing it.
Self reflection is a journey of inward discovery. Who are you? What are your goals? What would you change if you could? And maybe most important, what do you believe?
May the God of your fathers guide you on your journey.
